(Notice this proclamation was a joint effort of both the first President and the first Congress of the United States, which would include all those who wrote our Constitution and our Bill of Rights. The acknowledgment, submission to, praise, and worship of God was integral to our United States Government and the State. This is what made our nation great. There was NEVER any "separation of Church and State"... only a protection of the Church from the State!)

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and—Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me “to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:”

sin is to reject (or
ignore) God's love and His free offer of eternal life in the Kingdom of
Heaven by rejecting His Son ... Jesus Christ... who stepped forth from

sinner (from the torment of Hell) and who willingly and lovingly shed His
blood and bore all of our sins and guilt on the Cross so we can be "washed

--WND/Joseph Farah A REMARKABLE Mathematical Prophecy . . . Israel Back As A Nation in 1948 We Will Know When We Are Getting Close To The Coming Apocalypse Before believing any prophecy from a source outside the Bible, the first question you need to ask is not "How many prophecies has this guy gotten right?" but, the question has to be "How many prophecies has this guy gotten wrong?" And, according to the Bible, if the answer is 1 or more, then you can quickly identify them as a "false" prophet and move on. Also, the original source of the prophecy should be verified by 2-3 witnesses. From the biography found in Wikipedia, this rabbi Judah Ben Samuel certainly doesn't appear to have any Christian credentials, and his "mystic" beliefs also put him into a fringe area of Judaism. It would then be reasonable to question whether or not the Holy Spirit would have provided him with any prophetic insight. However, just by studying the news over the past days, months, and years, along with Bible Prophecy, it does seem possible the year 2017 could be an interesting year globally from a prophetic perspective. The year 2017 does represent the 50 year anniversary of the re-establishment of Jerusalem as Israel's capital (for the first time since the Babylonian captivity around 2500 years ago), and 2017 is the 500 year ("1/2 day") anniversary of the Protestant Reformation (how quickly the Lutheran church and most of the Protestant denominations have forgotten why around 50 million Bible-believing Protestants in Europe were willing to be slaughtered, beheaded, tortured, raped, and burned alive on a stake by Roman Popes (and Jesuits) for refusing to bow down to the Roman Catholic Church's Non-Biblical teachings and doctrines (dogma).
