Bible Prophecy

A Coming 'Peace Plan' For Israel

Will Change the World ... Forever!

The 70th Week Of Daniel

A coming "peace plan" will be enforced upon Israel that will change the world ... FOREVER!!!

The Bible warns of a coming 7-year period of time (a week of years) during which most living things on Earth will be utterly destroyed. Some call this coming 7-year period the Apocalypse. This is because the book of Revelation is called the "Apocalypse" in the original Greek language, and the book of Revelation outlines and describes in great detail the cataclysmic events and judgments which will come upon planet Earth during this coming (and final) prophetic "week" of 7-years.

What many people don’t realize is the Bible warns the coming "Apocalypse" (this final 7 years) will be defined by and will start with a coming Peace Plan ("Covenant") which will one day be enforced upon nation Israel by a coming World Leader (the Antichrist). We are also told the Antichrist will first rise over the people and nations which were once part of the Roman Empire.

The book of Daniel contains some of the most remarkable prophetic passages found in the Bible. These verses from Daniel 9:20-27 contain several important prophecies, including the prophecy of a coming peace plan ("covenant") with nation Israel which will signify the very day on which the final "70th week" of years (the coming Apocalypse) will begin ...

Daniel’s Prayer and Introduction (Daniel 9:20-23)

"Now while I (Daniel) was speaking, praying,

and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel,

and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God

for the holy mountain of my God,

yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel,

(this same angel was sent to Mary in Luke 1:26-38)

whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning,

being caused to fly swiftly,

reached me about the time of the evening offering.

And he informed me, and talked with me,

and said, "O Daniel, I have now come forth (from God)

to give you skill to understand.

At the beginning of your supplications

the command (from God) went out,

and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved;

therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision:

The 70 Weeks Prophecy (Daniel 24-27) ...

"Seventy weeks are determined

For your people (Israel)

and for your holy city (Jerusalem),

To finish the transgression,

To make an end of sins,

To make reconciliation for iniquity,

To bring in everlasting righteousness,

To seal up vision and prophecy,

And to anoint the Most Holy. (Messiah)

"Know therefore and understand,

That from the going forth of the command

To restore and build Jerusalem

Until Messiah the Prince ("King"),

There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; (= 69 weeks)

The street shall be built again,

and the wall, (See Nehemiah 2:2-9)

Even in troublesome times.

"And AFTER the sixty-two weeks

Messiah shall be cut off, ("karath"... Executed!!)

but not for Himself; (For no crime He committed)

And the people (Romans) OF the prince who is to come

(the Antichrist will rise out of the Roman Empire)

Shall destroy the City (Jerusalem) and the Temple (‘Sanctuary’). (Romans destroyed the Temple)

(Messiah had to be executed before the Temple was destroyed)

The end of it shall be with a flood,

And till the end of the war (against Israel)

(or ‘and to the end there shall be war’ (against Israel)

desolations are determined (upon Israel).

THEN, he (‘the prince who is to come’... the Antichrist)

shall confirm (enforce) a covenant with the many (in Israel)

(a coming peace plan, treaty, or resolution)

FOR ONE WEEK; (The final 7 years - the 70th week)

(Israel has to be back as a nation for this to happen)

But in the middle of the week (3 ½ years - 1260 days)

He (the coming Antichrist)

shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.

(A new Jewish Temple will be built)

And on the wing of abominations

shall be one who makes desolate,

Even until the consummation, which is determined,

Is poured out on the desolate."

(The final Battle of Armageddon)

(Daniel 9:20-27)

Three Distinct Parts To This Prophetic Passage

The amazing prophecies which are found in this remarkable "Seventy-Week Prophecy" from the book of Daniel can be divided into three separate sections or parts ...

Part 1: The First 69 Weeks

This first 69 Weeks is a mathematical prophecy which tells us when the Messiah would be revealed to Israel (and the world). It tells us a "commandment" would one day be issued to rebuild Jerusalem and its Wall. The prophecy states that from the date of this commandment it would be exactly 69 weeks of years (7+62) until the Messiah would be revealed to Israel (and to all Mankind.) This commandment was later issued on Nisan 1, 445 BC by King Artaxerxes (see Nehemiah 2:2-9) and the prophecy was fulfilled exactly 483 years (173,880 days) later on Nisan 10, 32 AD (Palm Sunday) which was the only day Jesus ever allowed Himself to be worshiped as Messiah and King. We will review this prophecy later in the "Prophecies of Messiah" Addendum.

Part 2: An Interval or Gap Between the 69th and 70th Weeks

A prophetic interval (or pause or gap) between the 69th Week (when Messiah would first be revealed) and the final 70th Week (which is also referred to as the "Day of Vengeance," "the Time of Jacob’s (Israel’s) Trouble," "the Day of the Lord’s Anger," and the "Great Tribulation") is revealed in these verses. This prophetic interval is also hinted at in Luke when Jesus stopped His reading and closed the book of Isaiah at a very significant place in the text ...

"And He (Jesus) was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah.

And when He had opened the book,

He found the place where it was written:

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,

Because He has anointed Me (Messiah means "Anointed One")

To preach the Gospel to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives

And recovery of sight to the blind,

To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."

(This prophecy continued on in the book of Isaiah)

Then He closed the book,

and gave it back to the attendant and sat down.

And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue

were fixed on Him.

And He began to say to them,

"Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."

(Luke 4:17-21)

The point at which Jesus ended His reading that day separates the prophetic role He (Messiah) would fulfill during His first (69th Week) coming (as "Savior" and "the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the World"), from the prophetic role He will fulfill when He returns at His second (70th Week) coming as the "Lion of the Tribe of Judah" and "King of kings and Lord of lords," when He will take vengeance upon all His enemies, and will save a remnant of Israel from the armies of the world. Let’s read the full prophetic passage in Isaiah which Jesus was reading from that day to see what now lies ahead for Israel (and all Mankind) in God’s Plan ...

"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,

Because the Lord has anointed Me

To preach good tidings to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives,

And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,

(this "comma" is where Jesus stopped and closed the book)

And the Day of Vengeance of our God." (This still lies ahead!)

(Isaiah 61:1-3)

This prophetic interval or gap of time between the 69th Week (when Messiah would be revealed) and the 70th Week (when He will return) can be accurately understood from Daniel’s prophecy because in Daniel 9:26 he tells us of at least two events that must happen between the 69th (7+62) Week and the 70th Week (and these prophecies were fulfilled after Messiah was "executed") ...

1. Messiah would be executed

(This took place upon the Cross ... 4 days after Messiah was revealed on "Palm Sunday")

2. The Temple ("Sanctuary") would be destroyed

(The Romans destroyed the Temple in 70 AD ... 38 years after Messiah was revealed)

Then, in the New Testament, we are given additional prophecies that must be fulfilled before the final 70th Week (the "Apocalypse") begins, including ...

- First, the Gospel must be carried "to the end of the Earth"

"Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary

for the Christ (Messiah) to suffer

and to rise from the dead the third day,

that repentance and remission of sins

should be preached in His Name

to ALL nations,

beginning at Jerusalem."

(Luke 24:46-47)

"But you will receive power

when the Holy Spirit has come upon you,

and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem

and in all Judea and Samaria,

AND TO THE END OF THE EARTH."

(Acts 1:7-9)

Now, after 2000 years, the World’s Calendar is based on Anno Domini (AD) "The year of our Lord."

Then, there are still two other prophecies which must be fulfilled ...

1. The "falling away" of the churches

(When churches will "no longer endure sound doctrine")

2. The Antichrist must be revealed

(Before the 70th Week ... and after the "Rapture")

"Let no one deceive you by any means;

For that Day (the "Apocalypse"... the 70th Week)

will NOT come unless

the falling away (the Apostasy) comes first,

(churches turning away from God’s Word)

and the Man of Sin (the Antichrist) is revealed,

the Son of Perdition, (another title of the Antichrist)

who opposes and exalts himself

above all that is called God or that is worshiped"

(2 Thessalonians 2:3-4)

Part 3: A Coming Peace Plan ... The "Apocalypse" Begins

We are warned in Bible prophecy this last remaining 7 year period ("one week of years") of testing and tribulation which has been "determined" upon the children of Israel will be defined by and will start with a peace treaty ("covenant") which will be enforced upon nation Israel ...

"Then, he (‘the prince who is to come’... the coming Antichrist)

SHALL CONFIRM A COVENANT

(a coming peace plan, treaty, or resolution for nation Israel)

with the many (in Israel)

FOR ONE WEEK; (The final 7 years - the 70th week)

(Israel has to be back as a nation for this to happen)

(Daniel 9:26)

As noted earlier, this coming 7 years or "one week of years" which was first revealed in the book of Daniel was later outlined and detailed in the book of Revelation. The book of Revelation expands this prophecy and provides the prophetic details of the terrifying events which will take place on Earth and in Heaven.

In both Daniel and the book of Revelation we are told this coming 7-year period will be divided in half ... into two 3 ½ Year periods. The first half will see a false peace and the rise of the coming Antichrist ... and the second half is that time Jesus calls the "Great Tribulation," which is also called "The Day of the Lord," "the Day of God’s Wrath," "that Day," and "the Time of Jacob’s (Israel’s) Trouble."

"But in the middle of the week (3½ years - exactly 1260 days)

He (the coming Antichrist)

shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.

(A new Jewish Temple will be built)

And on the wing of abominations

shall be one who makes desolate,

Even until the consummation,

which is determined, (upon Israel ... and all Mankind)

Is poured out on the desolate." (The final 3 ½ years)

(Daniel 9:27)

In these verses, the Bible warns exactly 3½ years (1,260 days) after this "peace" is enforced, the peace plan ("covenant") will be annulled by this coming world leader (the Antichrist) when he addresses the world from a new Jewish Temple which will one day be built in Jerusalem. It will be this address (probably televised), when this leader will declare to the world that he is God as "he seats himself as God" in the most Holy Place of a newly built Jewish Temple.

This blasphemous event called the "abomination of desolation" which will trigger the wrath of God and all the terrors which will come upon planet Earth the last 3½ years of the 70th Week is described in more detail by the Apostle Paul ...

"The Son of Perdition, (another title of the Antichrist)

who opposes and exalts himself

above all that is called God or that is worshiped,

so that he (the Antichrist)

sits as God in the Temple of God, (a new Temple will be built)

showing himself that he is God."

(2 Thessalonians 2:4)

This event is the "abomination of desolation" which Jesus Christ tells us will trigger the final 3 ½ year "Great Tribulation"!!

Jesus Christ warns ...

"Therefore, when you SEE

the ‘abomination of desolation,’ (this will probably be televised)

spoken of by Daniel the prophet, (Daniel 9:27 and 2 Thess 3-4)

standing in the Holy Place (of a new Jewish Temple)

(whoever reads, let him understand),

then let those who are in Judea

flee to the mountains.

Let him who is on the housetop

not go down to take anything out of his house.

And let him who is in the field

not go back to get his clothes.

But woe to those who are pregnant

and to those who are nursing babies in those days!

And pray that your flight

may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.

For then there will be Great Tribulation,

such as has not been since

the beginning of the world until this time,

no, nor ever shall be.

And unless those days were shortened,

NO flesh (living thing on Earth) would be saved"

(Matthew 24:15:22)

Jesus Christ tells us never in the history of Mankind has there ever been anything as terrible and deadly as the coming "Apocalypse"...

God then told the prophet Daniel to "seal" all these prophecies UNTIL "the time of the end" when "travel and knowledge" would increase ...

"But you, Daniel,

shut up the words,

and seal the book

UNTIL the time of the end;

many shall run to and fro, (when travel would increase significantly)

and knowledge shall increase." (when knowledge would increase significantly)

(Daniel 12:4) (Never in History has travel and knowledge increased as in these last 70 years)

God also warns that none of the wicked will understand, but the wise will understand ...

"And he (the angel) said,

"Go your way, Daniel,

for the words are closed up and sealed

UNTIL the time of the end.

Many shall be purified, made white, and refined,

but the wicked shall do wickedly;

and none of the wicked shall understand,

but the wise shall understand."

(Daniel 12:9-10)

So, beware of "peace" movements, for the Bible warns there will be no peace in Israel (or in the world) until Jesus Christ returns ...

Please Remember ...

Please remember, the Kingdom of Heaven is available to every man, woman, boy, and girl in this world, no matter who they are, where they live, or what they have done.  It is freely offered to any and all who will receive it.  Simply learn of Jesus (Yeshua), the promised Messiah, invite Him into your life as Lord, believe He died on the Cross for all of your sins and rose from the grave (proving there is a Kingdom of Heaven ... and a Hell).  Learn of Him and believe in Him . . . for He was the only one who has ever loved you enough to substitute Himself for you on the Cross.  He shed His blood, suffered, and died on the Cross to save you from your sins and from the utter darkness and torment of Hell, if you will accept it, believe it, and trust in it.  That is why Jesus is called Savior.  He now lovingly and graciously offers you life in Heaven (and we are warned it is a "take it or leave it" proposition.)  We have to consciously receive it and accept it in faith.  If you sincerely admit you have sinned (which means you will need a Savior to get into Heaven) and ask Jesus to come into your life and honestly try to stop doing (and saying) those things God says are wrong, you will go to Heaven ... and with open arms and tears of joy He will receive all who will come to Him in faith and in love ... It's God's Promise!!!

The only unpardonable sin is to reject God's love and His free offer of life in the Kingdom of Heaven by rejecting Jesus (Yeshua), the Messiah, who stepped forth from Heaven (as promised) ... not to condemn the sinner, but to save the sinner (from the torment of Hell) and who willingly and lovingly shed His blood on the Cross so we can be washed clean of all our sins.  The Bible warns there will be no peace in our lives until we make peace with God through His Son, Jesus (Yeshua), the promised Messiah.  The Bible also says there will be no peace in Israel or on Earth until Jesus (Yeshua), the Messiah returns . . .
