In Ezekiel 38-39 the Bible warns this coming war between Iran (Persia) and Israel will take place sometime after Israel has been re-gathered into Her land as a nation (which was fulfilled on May 14, 1948) ... this prophetic war has never yet taken place ... the only time in history Persia (Iran) has ever gone to war against Israel was to help Israel throw off the yoke of the Byzantine Empire around 614 AD. The Bible warns the US will NOT defend Israel.
Bible scholars are divided as to whether this coming war is part of the prophetic battle of Armageddon or will just precede the battle of Armageddon in order to prepare the path for the coming Antichrist (a coming 'world leader' who will enforce a 'peace plan' upon Israel). Bible students should be sitting on the edge of their seats with white knuckles watching this terrible prophecy slowly start to unfold ... while believing Christians (followers ... both Jew and Gentile ... of Jesus-Yeshua, the promised Messiah) are told to 'examine' themselves in the Word and in faith to insure they are not just 'almost' Christians (followers of the Messiah) or 'lukewarm' in their faith ... for Jesus-Yeshua the Messiah warns all to, "Watch, therefore, and pray always (not just sometimes), that you will be counted worthy to escape all these things (the terrible events of the coming 'Apocalypse') that will come to pass" ... (Luke 21:36) ... for the Bible promises believing Christians (faithful believers and followers of the Messiah) who are alive at that time and have endured in their faith in God's Word are not "appointed" to this coming time of "God's wrath" that will be "poured out" upon the whole world ... (1 Thessalonians 1:10 ... 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11) (Prophecies ... The coming "Rapture") (Prophetic Warning Signs: 'Apocalypse' ... We will know when we are close)
As you will also note from this poll, no nation polled would back Israel ... and the Bible also warns around the time of Armageddon all nations would 'unite' against Israel ... (Zechariah 14:2...Revelation 16:12-16).
Many people will simply yawn and ignore these headlines and Bible prophecies ... yet, God does not fulfill His prophecies or prophetic warnings in secret, but so all the world can see. This prophetic war between Iran and Israel has never yet taken place ... and it is very much part of the coming "Apocalypse" and Armageddon scenario. God has been warning and preparing this generation for this coming war for well over 10 years ... and the headlines concerning this coming war can now be found almost daily around the world. God is trying to get our attention and to draw those who are His back to Him before it is too late. With open arms and with tears of joy God promises to shelter and comfort all who will return to Him before these events take place (or before they die) ... yet, the Bible warns God will not mourn nor have any mercy on those who ignore and mock His warnings and His Word. Through the prophet Ezekiel (a thousand years after they were destroyed), God tells us why He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah ...
"This was the iniquity (sin) of your sister Sodom:
She (Sodom) and her daughter (Gomorrah)
had pride, (Gay "Pride")
fullness of food,
and abundance of idleness;
neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy,
and they were arrogant (haughty) ...
Therefore, I (God) took them away
as I saw fit." (He dissolved them and cleansed the earth where they stood with fire ...)
(Ezekiel 16:49-50)
In these verses, God links open homosexuality in a society to sinful 'pride' and 'arrogance'... the sin of Satan. Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed ('cleansed' with fire) because they were filled with pride and arrogance while flaunting their sexual immorality and their homosexuality openly before God. They mocked God and they had no fear of God. They were also found guilty of having 'fullness of food' without acknowledging God who provided it, and having 'an abundance of idleness' in the land (basically they ate, drank, watched TV, and allowed their Gay "Pride" parades, while filling the lusts of their eyes and the lusts of their flesh ... the people had become so de-sensitized to sin they even stood by as their 'gays' tried to 'gang-rape' the two men/angels God sent to warn Lot ... and their bars, shopping malls, and pornography web-sites were bustling) ... while their worthless priests, rabbis, ministers, and 'reverends' were assuring the people in the pews that God's Word and God's Law didn't really mean what it said and didn't really apply to them and they could continue to do whatever felt good or right in 'their own eyes,' even when in direct opposition to God's Law. All of this reflected their lack of belief and their arrogant and rebellious attitudes toward God and His Word. Sin meant nothing to them and there was no fear of God. Would these charges indict and convict any people or nation(s) you know today? God's judgment against Sodom was was also given as a warning! The Bible warns the coming 'Apocalypse' will be like the judgment against Sodom (only worse), and this time it will come against the whole world! Our time is short. God is pleading with us to stop (repent of) our sinful ways and return to Him before it's too late. With open arms and with tears of joy He will welcome any and all who willingly return to Him through the One He sent forth to save us sinners ... Yeshua/Jesus ... the promised Messiah. And, as with Lot (and as with Enoch before the Flood), God promises to remove ('Rapture') those who will sincerely return to Him in faith before the coming 'Apocalypse,' which the Bible also calls 'the Great Tribulation,' 'the Time of Jacob's [Israel's] Trouble,' 'the Day of the Lord,' the 'Time of the End,' and the 'Day of God's Wrath.' ... Then, around 500 years after Ezekiel, God warns Sodom and Gomorrah were given as an "example" for coming generations ...
"As Sodom and Gomorrah,
and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, ( 5 cities were destroyed including Sodom and Gomorrah)
having given themselves over to sexual immorality
and gone after strange flesh, (homosexuality)
are set forth as an example,
suffering the vengeance of eternal fire." (Hell)
"And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes,
condemned them (Sodom and Gomorrah) to destruction,
making them an example
to those who afterward would live ungodly ..."

God is patient. We are told He has waited this long because He loves us and wants us to repent, which simply means to change and turn back to Him and His ways, which are good. He is filled with patience, forgiveness, and mercy. He will protect and shelter all who will draw close to Him before the coming time of trouble. He warns us through prophecy so we will realize how perilously close we are to the end. He wants us to realize how far from Him and His protection we have wandered, and to run back to Him as we sense the danger we are in.
