Jesus Christ (Yeshua Ha'Mashiach in Hebrew) explains why the world hates Him and believing Christians . . .

Yet, all believing Christians (followers of the Messiah of Israel) have had to come face-to-face with the fact we are all sinners and desperately need a 'Savior' to save us from our sins and from Hell ... we humbly come before Him to confess and repent of our sins ... and then trust in Him alone to save us from all our sins though His completed work on the Cross.
The ancient Bible prophecies of the Messiah even warned He would be despised and rejected . . . by both Israel and the World. We are also told He would deeply feel the pain of rejection . . .
"He (Messiah) is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief."

"He was despised, and we did not esteem Him."

"The Redeemer of Israel,

Yet, the Messiah would be beaten, bloodied, and would die for our sins (iniquities)
so we could escape the judgment . . . and the darkness, loneliness, and torments of Hell
"But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes (whip lashes) we are healed.
And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity (sin) of us all."

Through the prophet Ezekiel (a thousand years after they were destroyed), God tells us why He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah ...
"This was the iniquity [sin] of your sister Sodom:
She (Sodom) and her daughter (Gomorrah) had
pride,
fullness of food,
and abundance of idleness;
neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy,
and they were arrogant (haughty) ...
Therefore, I (God) took them away
as I saw fit." (He dissolved them and cleansed the earth where they stood with fire ...)

In these verses, God links open homosexuality in a society to sinful 'pride' and 'arrogance'... the sin of Satan. Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed ('cleansed' with fire) because they were filled with pride and arrogance while flaunting their sexual immorality and their homosexuality openly before God. They mocked God and they had no fear of God. They were also found guilty of having 'fullness of food' without acknowledging God who provided it, and having 'an abundance of idleness' in the land (basically they ate, drank, watched TV, and allowed their 'Gay Pride' parades, while filling the lusts of their eyes and the lusts of their flesh ... the people had become so de-sensitized to sin they even stood by as their 'gays' tried to 'gang-rape' the two men/angels God sent to warn Lot ... and their bars, shopping malls, and pornography web-sites were bustling) ... while their worthless priests, rabbis, ministers, and 'reverends' were assuring the people in the pews that God's Word and God's Law didn't really mean what it said and didn't really apply to them and they could continue to do whatever felt good or right in 'their own eyes,' even when in direct opposition to God's Law. All of this reflected their lack of belief and their arrogant and rebellious attitudes toward God and His Word. Sin meant nothing to them and there was no fear of God. Would these charges indict and convict any people or nation(s) you know today? God's judgment against Sodom was was also given as a warning! The Bible warns the coming 'Apocalypse' will be like the judgment against Sodom (only worse), and this time it will come against the whole world! Our time is short. God is pleading with us to stop (repent of) our sinful ways and return to Him before it's too late. With open arms and with tears of joy He will welcome any and all who willingly return to Him through the One He sent forth to save us sinners ... Yeshua/Jesus ... the promised Messiah. And, as with Lot (and as with Enoch before the Flood), God promises to remove ('Rapture') those who will sincerely return to Him in faith before the coming 'Apocalypse,' which the Bible also calls 'the Great Tribulation,' 'the Time of Jacob's [Israel's] Trouble,' 'the Day of the Lord,' the 'Time of the End,' and the 'Day of God's Wrath.' ... Then, around 500 years after Ezekiel, God warns Sodom and Gomorrah were given as an "example" for coming generations ...
"As Sodom and Gomorrah,
and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, ( 5 cities were destroyed including Sodom and Gomorrah)
having given themselves over to sexual immorality
and gone after strange flesh, (homosexuality)
are set forth as an example,
suffering the vengeance of eternal fire." (Hell)
"And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes,
condemned them (Sodom and Gomorrah) to destruction,
making them an example
to those who afterward would live ungodly ..."

God also provides prophetic insights into the mood and the attitudes of those who will be found living "in the last days" . . .
"Knowing this first:
that scoffers will come in the last days,
walking according to their own lusts,
and saying,
'Where is the promise of His coming?
For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue on
as they were from the beginning of creation.’"
(2 Peter 3:3-4)
However, through the Apostle Peter, God does graciously answer those who sincerely ask, "Where is the promise of His coming?" or, "It’s been 2000 years, why hasn’t He returned yet?"
"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise,
as some count slackness, but is longsuffering (patient) toward us,
not willing that any should perish (in Hell or the coming "Apocalypse")
but that all should come to repentance."

God is patient. We are told He has waited this long because He loves us and wants us to repent, which simply means to change our ways and turn back to Him, His Word, and His ways, which are good. He is filled with patience, forgiveness, and mercy. He will protect and shelter all who will draw close to Him before the coming time of trouble. He warns us through prophecy so we will realize how perilously close we are to the end. He wants us to realize how far from Him and His protection we have wandered, and to run back to Him as we sense the danger we are in.

David Hocking Comments: While we appreciate the depth to which this article goes in explaining the Jewish Festival of Shavuot (Pentecost - Greek name), we have some questions. First, the account of this festival in Leviticus 23 seems to teach that the counting of the seven weeks does NOT begin with the Day of Passover itself, but rather it counts from the weekly Shabat (Sabbath) that follows the week in which Passover occurs. That means that the Day of Shavuot (Pentecost) always falls on Sunday! Also, there was no mention in the Rabbi’s remarks concerning the events recorded in Acts 2 when the church was born, comprised of both Jews and Gentiles who had been born again through their faith in the Jewish Messiah. That church was primarily Jewish. 3000 Jews believed the message of Shimon (Peter) that day in the courtyards of the Temple Mount, and over 5000 men, not counting women and children, a few days later (Acts 3). Flavius Josephus (the Roman historian at the time of Titus Vespasian the Roman general who laid siege to Jerusalem in 70 AD) reports that the original Jewish Messianic believers comprised over 100,000 people by the time of the Roman invasion. This is not a fable, myth, or fabrication of Christians - it is a well documented fact that cannot be ignored! SHAVUOT (PENTECOST) IS THE JEWISH FESTIVAL THAT CELEBRATES THE BRINGING OF BOTH JEWS AND GENTILES INTO THE BODY OF MESSIAH! (Note: From early church history it appears most of the 100,000 followers of the Messiah in Jerusalem at the time of the Roman siege were spared because of the prophecies given by Jesus (Yeshua) before His Crucifixion 38 years earlier.)

This week Jews
will celebrate Hag Ha Shavuot, also known
as the Feast of Weeks or the Feast of Pentecost. The feast is held on the 6th
of Sivan on the Hebrew calendar. The date of Shavuot is directly linked to
that of Passover. Christian churches in the West celebrated Pentecost on May
11, but Shavuot follows almost a month later because it is a Jewish leap year
(you can read more about this in our article on Passover titled
A

The Torah - the five books of Moses - details seven feasts during the Hebrew
calendar. The first three feasts are in the spring, in the month of Nisan:
Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and the Feast of First Fruits. These
feasts are predictive of the First Coming of Jesus (Yeshua).
In between the spring and fall feasts, fifty days after the Feast of First
Fruits, there is the Feast of Pentecost. This feast, celebrated this week, is
associated with the Church. The Birth of the Church appears to be a
fulfillment of the Feast of Pentecost. (It is interesting to note that this is
the only feast in which leavened bread is ordained.)
The last three feasts are in the fall, in the month of Tishri: the Feast of
Trumpets, the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), and the Feast of Tabernacles.
These are associated with His Second Coming.
The timing of the Feast of Pentecost is based on Leviticus 23:16 which points
to "the morrow after the seventh sabbath" (fifty days) after the Feast of
First Fruits. The Greek word Pentecost
means "the fiftieth day." Since the Passover was on the 14th of Nisan, and
there were three days to the Red Sea crossing, then 46 days into the
wilderness, and three days of Moses' preparation, this is deemed to correspond
to the 49 day interval between the Feast of First Fruits (17th of Nisan) and
the Feast of Pentecost (6th of Sivan).
The Feast of Pentecost is associated with the birth of Israel and the giving
of the Law in Exodus 19. Thus, it is also called the Feast of Revelation.
Another name for the Feast of Pentecost is Hag
Ha Kazir, The Feast of Harvest, since it is celebrated at the time of the
"first harvest."
A study of the Feast of Pentecost is not complete without a review of the Book
of Ruth. The Jewish observance of the Feast of Weeks has always included the
reading of this particular book. It is provocative to note the interesting
parallels relating to the Church. This elegant love story exemplifies the role
of the goel, or kinsman-redeemer. As we
examine Boaz's role, we notice that he, in many ways, pre-figures our own
kinsman-redeemer, Jesus Christ. Through his act of redemption, Boaz returns
Naomi (Israel) to her land, and also takes Ruth (a Gentile) as his wife. This
suggests a parallel with the Church as the Gentile bride of the
kinsman-redeemer.
The Feasts of Israel, set by God, are not only commemorative in a historical
context, but are also prophetic. For more information see

Note From Alpha News Daily: The day of Pentecost (Sunday) marks the second Holiest day of the year for believing Christians (after the "Feast of Firstfruits" ... which is the day of His Resurrection we celebrate in the Spring). Pentecost is the day when God gave the "gift" of His Holy Spirit (see Acts 2:1-47) to any and all who would and will return to Him by repenting from their sins and fully trusting in Jesus Christ (Yeshua Ha'Mashiach in Hebrew) to have fully paid our debt of sin once and for all on the Cross.
