     Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant   (Jews who believe Jesus is the promised Messiah)

     according to the election of grace.  

     And if by grace, then it is no longer of works;

     otherwise grace is no longer grace.

     But if it is of works, it is no longer grace;

     otherwise work is no longer work.  

     What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks;

     but the elect (Jews who believe Jesus is Messiah) have obtained it,     (Prophecies of Messiah from the ancient Jewish Scriptures ...) 

     and the rest (who rejected Messiah like they rejected the prophets of old) were blinded.  

     Just as it is written: "God has given them a spirit of stupor,

     Eyes that they should NOT see

     and ears that they should NOT hear, to this very day."  

     And David says: "Let their table become a snare and a trap,

     A stumbling block and a recompense to them.  

     Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see,

     and bow down their back always."  

     I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall?

     CERTAINLY NOT!

     But through their fall,

     to PROVOKE them to jealousy,

     salvation has come to the Gentiles.      ("A Light unto the Gentiles"... Isaiah 49:6 ... "Thank You, Lord!!!")

     Now if their fall (unbelieving Jews) is riches for the world,

     and their failure riches for the Gentiles,

     how much more their fullness!   (When they do come to believe in and love their Messiah)

     For I speak to you Gentiles;

     inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles   (this was not easy for a kosher Jewish rabbi),

     I magnify my ministry,

     if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh (fellow Jews)

     and save some of them.      (God's Promise ...)

     For if their (Israel's) being cast away is the reconciling of the world,     ("For God so loved the world" ... John 3:16)

     what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?  

     For if the firstfruit is holy,

     the lump is also holy;

     and if the root is holy, so are the branches.  

     And if some of the branches were broken off,

     and you (Gentiles), being a wild olive tree,

     were grafted in among them,

     and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree,  

     do NOT boast against the branches.  (The children of Israel)

     But if you do boast,

     remember that you do not support the root,

     but the root supports you.  

     You will say then, "Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in." 

     Well said.

     Because of UNBELIEF they were broken off,

     and you stand (saved) by FAITH (belief in God's Word). 

     Do NOT be arrogant (haughty), but FEAR..  

     For if God did not spare the natural branches,

In Ezekiel (written a thousand years AFTER Sodom and Gomorrah were judged and destroyed) God explains why ... (and remember, to God "a thousand years is as one day"... Psalm 90:4 ... 2 Peter 3:8).   God warns open homosexuality is a visual symptom of a people (or nation, or world) who are filled with "arrogance" and sinful "pride" ("Nobody ... not even God ... is going to tell me what to do!") ...

   "This was the sin (iniquity) of your sister Sodom:

     She (Sodom) and her daughter (Gomorrah) had pride,    ("God is not going to tell me what to do!")

     fullness of food,

     and abundance of idleness;   (sounds a lot like our generation)

     neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy,

     and they were arrogant (haughty) ...   ("I don't care what God says in the Bible!"... "I'll do what feels right to me!")

     Therefore, I (God) took them away as I saw fit."    (God 'cleansed' (destroyed) them with fire ... )

In these verses, God links open homosexuality in a society to sinful "pride" and "arrogance"... the sin of Satan.  Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed ('cleansed' with fire) because they were filled with pride and arrogance while flaunting their sexual immorality and their homosexuality openly before God.   They mocked God and they had no fear of God.   They were also found guilty of having "fullness of food" without acknowledging God who provided it, and having "an abundance of idleness" in the land (basically they ate, drank, watched TV, and allowed their "Gay Pride" parades) ... the people had become so de-sensitized to sin they even stood by as their homosexuals tried to 'gang-rape' the two men/angels God sent to warn Lot ... while their worthless 'reverends', priests, rabbis, and ministers (just like Satan in the Garden) were seductively assuring the people in the pews that God's Word and God's Law did NOT really mean what it said and did NOT really apply to them and they could continue to do whatever felt good or right "in their own eyes," even when in direct disobedience to God's Word and God's Law ...

All of this reflected their lack of belief and their arrogant and rebellious attitudes toward God and His Word.   Sin meant nothing to them ... and there was no fear of God.  Would these charges convict any people or nation(s) you know today?   God's judgment against Sodom was was given as a warning!   The Bible warns the coming "Apocalypse" will be like the judgment against Sodom (only much worse), and this time it will be global!   

Our time is short.   God is pleading with us to stop (repent of) our sinful ways and return to Him before it's too late.  With open arms and with tears of joy He will welcome any and all who willingly return to Him through the One He sent forth to save us from our sins (and from Hell) ... Jesus (Yeshua) ... the promised Messiah.   And, as with Lot (and as with Enoch before the Flood when God 'cleansed' the Earth with water), God promises to remove ('Rapture') all those who will sincerely return to Him in faith before the coming "Apocalypse," which the Bible also calls "the Great Tribulation," "the Time of Jacob's (Israel's) Trouble," "the Day of the Lord," the "Time of the End," and the "Day of (God's) Wrath" ...       (Prophecies:  The coming "Rapture"... The Kingdom of Heaven is available to every man, woman, boy, and girl in this world, no matter who they are, where they live, or what they have done.  It is freely offered to any and all who will receive it.  Simply learn of Jesus (Yeshua), the promised Messiah of Israel, invite Him into your life as Lord, believe He died on the Cross for all of your sins and rose from the grave (proving there is a Kingdom of Heaven ... and a Hell).  Learn of Him and believe in Him . . . for He was the only one who has ever loved you enough to substitute Himself for you on the Cross (which represents Hell).  He shed His blood, suffered, and died on the Cross to save you from your sins and from the utter darkness and torment of Hell, if you will accept it, believe it, and trust in it.  That is why Jesus is called Savior.  He now lovingly and graciously offers you life in Heaven (and we are warned it is a "take it or leave it" proposition.)  We have to consciously receive it and accept it in faith.  If you sincerely admit you have sinned (which means you need a Savior to get into Heaven) and ask Jesus (Yeshua) to come into your life and honestly try to stop doing (and saying) those things God says are wrong, you will go to Heaven ... and with open arms and tears of joy He will receive all who will come to Him in faith and in love ... What is this strange, bizarre, mysterious, Bible prophecy all about?

It might help to understand WHY God feels it will be important to remove this remnant (or 'body') of believers from the Earth in such a decisive and startling way.  We find the Rapture is somewhat analogous to a loving Bridegroom yanking His young wife ('betrothed') off the railroad tracks just as the train goes thundering by ...  (Prophecies of the coming "Apocalypse" and Armageddon)

The actual word "rapture" is not found in most Bibles.  The original Greek word "harpazo" which was translated "caught up" in many English translations (see above) could have been, or should have been translated, "to seize, to pluck away, or to take by force."  The original Greek word "harpazo" was later translated in the Latin as "raeptius" or in some cases "rapturo".  So, the term "rapture" comes from the Latin translation.

Bible prophecies concerning the coming "Rapture"...

When will the Rapture take place?

This account in the Bible was also given to us as a "foreshadowing" of the coming Messiah ... who would also be turned over by His brethren (to be imprisoned and killed) because of envy and hate ... yet, He also knew that although they meant it for "evil"... God meant it for "good"... so many people (both Jew and Gentile) could be "saved" (into Heaven) by having their sins forgiven through faith and trusting in Him ... by sincerely trusting in His death as the "sacrificial Lamb of God" who died for our sins "once and for all"... and by sincerely trusting in His life because God powerfully resurrected Him from the dead ... and He now lives as our "King of Kings and Lord of Lords" lovingly interceding for us as our "High Priest" and "Savior" (who saves us from our sins and from the aloneness, darkness, and torment of Hell) while seated on His throne at the right hand of God ...
