NOTE:  Pentecost ... the Feast of Weeks ... Firstfruits ... Jewish Feast of Shavout ...  fell on Saturday night and Sunday.

   "It shall be a statute forever

     throughout your generations in all your dwellings.  

     And you shall count for yourselves

     from the day after the Sabbath,  (the counting is always to start on the first day after Sabbath (Sunday) after Passover)

     from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering:

     seven Sabbaths shall be completed.  

     Count fifty days    (this is where the name "Pentecost" comes from ..."fifty")

     to the day after the seventh Sabbath;   (Shavout (Pentecost) is always to fall on the first day after Sabbath ... Sunday)

     then you shall offer a new grain offering to the LORD.  

     You shall bring from your dwellings two wave loaves of two-tenths of an ephah.    (symbolizing both Jew and Gentile)

     They shall be of fine flour;

     they shall be baked with leaven.   (this is the only Jewish Feast leaven is commanded ... leaven represents the Gentiles)

     They are the firstfruits to the LORD."   (The "mystery" was Messiah would draw both Jew and Gentile together ...)

PROPHECY:  The 7 Jewish Feasts were given as prophetic "foreshadowings" of the promised Messiah of Israel ...

-  The FIRST three (in the month of Nisan) were predictive of the FIRST coming of Messiah (as "The Lamb of God")

-  The MIDDLE one (Pentecost) is predictive of the mystery of God drawing both Jew and Gentile together in one body

-  The LAST  three (in the month of Tishri) are predictive of Messiah's RETURN (as "The Lion of the tribe of Judah")

NOW is the time to fear God ... to love God ... to humble ourselves and praise God for who He is and for the mighty works He has done ... and to draw near to God in love, faith, trust, and obedience with Godly fear, hope, and sincere thanksgiving through His Son, the promised Messiah of Israel.
