(Matthew 1:17 ... Luke 3:23 ... the genealogies of Jesus-Yeshua through both Joseph (His adopted father) and Mary)
Jesus-Yeshua said He was the Messiah of Israel ... His miracles proved He was the Messiah of Israel ... and His genealogy which was then stored and readily available to the Priests and Rabbis in the Jewish Temple at the time He (Jesus-Yeshua) lived (and when these genealogies were written) documented His lineage through Judah, Jesse, and King David which was required of the Messiah of Israel ... and since Israel would not need the Jewish genealogies after the Messiah was first revealed, God had the Jewish genealogies destroyed with the Jewish Temple in 70 AD ... which He never would have allowed if Messiah had not yet arrived ... so, no one born after the generation of Jesus-Yeshua could (or ever can again) show the proof he (or she since Messiah would be born of a "virgin") is from the line of Judah, Jesse, and King David ... and, as the prophet Daniel warned, He (Messiah) would have to be executed ("cut-off") before the Second Temple was destroyed ... Daniel 9:26 ... so, we must listen to what the Bible says ... and not to the opinions and "traditions" of man ... for our eternal destinies and those of our children depend upon the Word of God ... and not the words and opinions of men.)

Old Testament (Tanakh) prophecy of the Messiah from the book of Isaiah ...
"Behold, the virgin shall conceive
and bear a Son,
and shall call His Name Immanuel"
(Isaiah 7:14) (Immanuel means "God with us"!)
Note: The Hebrew word used in this verse can be translated both 'virgin' and 'young maiden' ... however, when the 72 Jewish priests and scholars translated this same word into Greek for the 'Septuagint' around 270 B.C. they used the Greek word which can only mean a 'virgin' ... for in Greek there is a different word used for a 'young maiden.' (The "Septuagint" is the Hebrew to Greek translation of the Holy Scriptures completed around 270 B.C. ... around 270 years before Jesus-Yeshua was born in Bethlehem ... the city of King David ... exactly as the Bible prophets foretold.

and offered them up to them (to other 'gods', idols)
by causing them to pass through the fire ..."
(Ezekiel 16:20-21)
"By causing them (babies) to pass through the fire ..." Back then, unwanted babies were 'offered' to a false god 'Molech' (a god of lust and pleasure) by placing the baby onto the glowing red-hot arms of a small bronze statue which was placed in the fire. Do a study of Molech (an idol, false god) or passing babies 'through the fire' in the Bible and you will find God will judge a nation (and a world) for the killing of babies for convenience. God says a lot about this killing of unwanted babies ('passing sons and daughters through the fire') in the Bible. The technology we now use to kill these 'unwanted' babies is different, but the intent is exactly the same. Now, instead of calling them 'priests' we call them 'doctors,' and instead of burning the babies alive (passing them 'through the fire'), we cut them into little pieces while they're alive and call it 'abortion.' God sees it and it causes Him to cry out in agony and anger. This is one more reason why the coming Apocalypse is also called 'the Day of God's Wrath' which will come upon 'a morally corrupt and violent' generation. Also, the Bible warns us that 'not only those who do such things, but also all those who approve of those who do such things' will be held just as guilty. Please remember, our God is a forgiving God who is filled with grace and mercy, and even those who have done or approved of such things can still be washed clean and forgiven through the 'blood of the Lamb of God,' our Lord, the only One who can now save us from our sins, Jesus-Yeshua the promised Messiah.

and commanded the doorkeeper to watch.
